In late May, and before the leg injury really got as bad as it was going to get, when it was still just mildly annoying, Mr. Inkslinger and I took a quick, low-impact trip to Lepreau Falls to look at an easily accessible, but still quite lovely, waterfall. It boasts observations decks that make it easy to take pictures and appreciate the views (even if there are some areas that could use a bit of repair). No climbing or hiking was required, which was a good thing, as I was babying the early injury as best I could (this, as it turns out, didn't really help).
I have to say that Guitard's Waterfalls of New Brunswick has definitely become our go-to guide for mini-adventures in and around our area.
The only real disappointment we had was the shyness of the sun, which kept promising to make an appearance but never made good. Ah well. Cloudy days aren't so bad.
We're hoping to take in a few more (easily accessible) falls this summer and autumn, but the injury has set us back. Alas. I can't really complain, however, as it could have been so much worse.
And, after all, planning an adventure is almost as fun as having one. In the meantime, I will read about others who are having adventures and revel in both the imaginative experience and the sheer loveliness of words.

Cool pics!
Are you in New-Brunswick? I'm hoping that next time I go to Canada I'll be able to do a road trip from Ottawa to Quebec City, through New-Brunswick to Halifax. Still a dream at the moment, but I hope it will come true...
How beautiful these are!! Are you feeling better now? I truly hope so.
Em: Thanks!!! I am in New Brunswick! It's a great place to live in terms of scenery and pace (not as hectic as some parts of the country). I hope you get to visit here!
Grad: Thank you!! I'm beginning to feel a bit better, but it's slow going. More complications arose involving the leg, etc. Ugh. And it's such a lovely summer to be missing out on. Oh well, hopefully next year. :)
I do hope that things with your leg have cleared up by now ~ I feel terrible for everything you've been going through. I thought of you last night actually because a friend just sent a link about the second season of the BBC Sherlock Holmes. It premieres on Masterpiece Theater on May 6. . . not sure what that means for you, but I imagine you'll get it around that time too :).
Oooh!!! New Sherlock Holmes!!! Can't wait!! Thanks for mentioning it as I hadn't heard about it yet . . . and I definitely want to watch it. By May I should be awake enough to watch something like Sherlock (I've been warned that the first couple of months after a baby is born are characterized by much sleep deprivation . . . but May is quite awhile after Little Inkslinger is due so I'm hopeful :).
And yes, the leg has improved greatly. It's almost back to normal . . . which is such a relief!
